Our Physician- Meet Dr. Okoye

Dr. Chinelo Okoye was born in San Francisco California. She graduated Magna Cum Laude with Honors from the University of Georgia with a BS in Microbiology. She attended Loyola University Stritch School of Medicine in Chicago, Illinois where she received her medical degree. She completed her residency in Internal Medicine at Georgetown University Hospital in Washington DC.

Dr. Okoye has over 15 years of practice experience caring for patients. She worked as a Hospitalist at St Luke’s Medical Center in Houston, as a Primary Care Physician caring for our nation’s veterans at Michael E. DeBakey VA medical center in Houston and as a physician in a group private practice in the Houston area in addition to several other positions.

Dr. Okoye is board certified in Internal Medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine and participates in Maintenance of Certification. (This means that she makes it a point to keep up to date on the latest developments in Medicine). She is also a Fellow of the highly respected American College of Physicians (FACP).

Dr. Okoye has teaching experience as a Clinical Instructor with Baylor College of medicine while at the VA where she taught Internal Medicine residents, Medical students and Physician Assistant students in both Inpatient and Outpatient Medicine. She is a member of the Katy community. She lives right here in Katy with her husband and 2 children. Her children attend Katy ISD schools and the entire family attends a local Katy church.
